The Railway Board has approved seven new Amrit Bharat Express services, expanding long-distance rail connectivity across northern, central, western and southern India. The new routes connect cities including Dhanbad, Coimbatore, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Mumbai, Delhi, Charlapalli and Udhna in the Surat region. 

And there is an interesting pattern here. Three of the seven new services strengthen connections between Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai, while another links Dhanbad with Coimbatore.

1. Dhanbad - Coimbatore

Train No. 22363/22364

This is perhaps the most striking route in the announcement of Amrit Bharat Express. It will connect Dhanbad in Jharkhand with Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, creating a long east-to-south corridor.

Major stops include Gaya, Sasaram, Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Nagpur, Vijayawada, Nellore, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur.

The Dhanbad-bound service is reported for Saturday, while the return journey is scheduled for Tuesday.

2. Charlapalli - Gorakhpur

Train No. 22075/22076

This service will connect Charlapalli in Telangana with Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Its route includes Kazipet, Peddapalli, Manchiryal, Nagpur, Betul, Itarsi, Bhopal, Bina, Jhansi, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Gomti Nagar, Barabanki and Gonda.

The service is reported to run from Charlapalli on Fridays, with the return journey on Sundays.

3. Gorakhpur - Bandra

Train No. 15085/15086

Mumbai gets another important connection with eastern Uttar Pradesh.

The Gorakhpur–Bandra service will pass through Gonda, Kanpur Central, Agra Fort, Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, Palghar and Borivali before reaching Bandra.

It is reported to leave Gorakhpur on Fridays, with the return journey from Bandra on Saturdays.

4. Gorakhpur - Delhi

Gorakhpur will also get another direct connection towards the national capital.

The service is reported for Thursday, with the return journey on Friday.

5. Subedarganj - Lokmanya Tilak

Major stops include Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Banda, Chitrakutdham Karwi, Satna, Katni, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Khandwa, Bhusaval, Nashik Road, Kalyan and Thane.

The service is reported to operate once a week.

6. Prayagraj - Udhna

The sixth service will connect Prayagraj with Udhna in Gujarat, with major stops including Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Etawah, Tundla, Agra, Bayana, Hindaun City, Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Ramganj Mandi, Bhawani Mandi, Ratlam and Vadodara.

Udhna is part of the wider Surat region and is an important industrial and commercial area.

The Prayagraj service is reported for Friday, with the return journey on Saturday.

And demand for these services has been strong. A March 2026 government release said existing Amrit Bharat services had recorded occupancy of more than 100% during 2025-26 up to March 10, while also noting that timings can be rationalised based on operational feasibility and traffic patterns.
