Riteish Deshmukh's Raja Shivaji crossed ₹90.4 crore at the Indian box office on Tuesday, its ninth day in theatres, per tracker Sacnilk. The historical drama opened at ₹6.8 crore and held steady through its first weekend.
Production house Mumbai Film Company confirmed the ₹90 cr figure in a statement on Tuesday evening. Sacnilk's day-wise breakdown shows Marathi territories contributing 71% of the gross, with the rest coming from Karnataka and Gujarat dubbed runs.
The film is now on course to become 2026's first ₹100 cr Marathi production. Industry trade analyst Komal Nahta posted that the trajectory beats Sairat's same-period gross by 18%. The studio said a sequel announcement is expected at the wrap event next month.
For context: only six Marathi films have crossed ₹100 cr at the domestic box office. Read our earlier overview of the Marathi ₹100 cr club.
The next big regional release is Lokah Chapter 2 in two weeks — the studios will be watching closely.
