Where Is Hitech City Metro Station Located?

The station sits within one of Hyderabad’s most important business districts. Its location places commuters close to major corporate offices and commercial destinations around HITEC City, Madhapur and the wider western corridor.

The official station directory lists landmarks and organisations including Cyber Towers, Cyber Gateway, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Dell, HSBC, Genpact, Accenture, NIFT, Gachibowli and The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace. Shilparamam, Hyderabad International Convention Centre and NEXT Galleria Hitech City are also identified as important catchment areas.

That makes the station particularly useful for office-goers who need a public transport option into Hyderabad’s technology and business belt.

Hyderabad Metro Route and Blue Line Connectivity

The station is part of the Blue Line, which connects Nagole with Raidurg. On the official network map, Hitech City lies after Madhapur and Durgam Cheruvu and immediately before Raidurg, the western terminal.

For commuters travelling towards the city, the line passes through important areas including Jubilee Hills, Begumpet, Paradise and Secunderabad.

But it cannot solve every commuting problem by itself.

A worker may have a smooth metro ride and still face a long or inconvenient journey between the station and the office. That is why last-mile connectivity is becoming just as important as the metro itself.

The Last-Mile Challenge: What Comes After the Metro?

Hitech City’s sprawling office landscape makes the final stretch particularly important.

L&T Metro currently lists app-based last-mile options at the station, including two-wheeler and auto services.

There is also a bigger mobility plan taking shape. In February 2026, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited invited proposals for a techno-economic feasibility study for an Automated/Personal Rapid Transit System around areas including Hitech City and Raidurg Metro stations, Knowledge City and the Financial District.

According to HMRL, the proposed system is intended to improve last-mile connectivity, encourage public transport use and reduce dependence on private vehicles.

It is important to note that this is a feasibility-study/proposal stage, not an operational PRT service.

What’s Next for Connectivity Towards the Financial District?

Hyderabad’s transport story is also moving further west.

The Telangana government has previously proposed extending the existing Corridor III from Raidurg towards the Financial District, through areas including Biodiversity Junction, IIIT Junction and ISB Road. The proposed extension is around 12 km.

More broadly, the state submitted a detailed Phase-II proposal covering 122.9 km across seven corridors, with an estimated project cost of ₹38,595 crore, according to the Telangana government.

These proposals matter because Hyderabad’s employment centres are expanding beyond the traditional HITEC City–Madhapur cluster. Better connections between these hubs could eventually make public transport more practical for an even larger workforce.

Hitech City Metro Station vs Railway Station: Don’t Confuse the Two

There is an important distinction for visitors and new commuters: Hitech City Metro Station and Hitech City Railway Station are different transport facilities.

The metro station is part of Hyderabad Metro’s Blue Line and is designed primarily for urban rapid transit. The railway station belongs to the conventional railway network.

So, if your journey involves a metro ride, look for the metro station. If you are catching a train, double-check that your destination is the railway station.
